At present, many UPI (Unified Payments Interface) apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm are being used for this. Paying is made easy, simple and fast with these apps. For online payment, first you have to scan the QR code or enter the mobile number of the receiver and then enter the amount. After that enter the UPI PIN and you are done. Now to provide additional convenience to the users and increase the scope of digital payment, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently allowed the integration of RuPay credit card with the UPI platform.
Digital payments will expand
The integration of RuPay credit card with the UPI platform means that now users will be able to use their RuPay credit card to make UPI payments. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das announced this during the RBI policy meeting held in June. RBI had said in the statement that the RuPay credit card will be linked to the UPI platform. This will provide additional convenience to the users and widen the scope of digital payments.

RBI allowed to add credit card
It is worth noting that the support of RuPay credit card has been announced by RBI, it is now up to the UPI payment app whether they will support the card or not. According to a report by GadgetsNow.com, most of the UPI payment apps currently allow their users to link Mastercard and Visa cards to the app. However, till now you do not use your credit card to transfer money or make payments at local stores. You can use the credit card only for bill and utility payments like recharge, pay electricity bill etc.
How to Link Credit Card to Google Pay
If you are a Google Pay user and want to link your credit card with the app, you will first need to open Google Pay on your device. After that you have to add your bank account and then card by tapping on your profile picture. After this, you have to save it by entering your card number, expiry date, CVV, cardholder name and billing address.

Now accept the terms and conditions and Google Pay will contact your bank to verify your card. After that choose the option of How to Verify. After this you will be asked for additional authentication through OTP. OTP will be auto read or you can enter manually. Now you will have the payment method list of the new card in front of you. Activate it by tapping it and enter your one-time password and confirm. Now you can pay with Google Pay.
