Apple dominates premium smartphone segment, 60 percent of iPhones sold worldwide

New Delhi. According to a report by Counterpoint Research, Apple has achieved more than 60 percent share in the premium smartphone market in the second quarter. The biggest reason for this is the iPhone 13, which is the most popular smartphone in the market. The iPhone 13 has been the best-selling model globally every month since October 2021. This is the highest first quarter share for Apple in the premium segment since 2017.

According to the report, Apple continues to dominate the premium phone segment of the world. It is not at all that this smartphone does not compete with any other phone. Smartphones of almost every brand in this segment are available in the market. Despite this, the iPhone 13 is dominating the market. Significantly, Apple’s flagship iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro together have captured more than two-thirds of sales in the ultra-premium price segment.

iPhone13 Dominance
According to Counterpoint, the iPhone 13 has been the best-selling model globally every month since October 2021. This means that the iPhone 13 is beating its rivals as well as Apple’s Pro series since its launch seven months ago. In the premium segment, the iPhone 13 has a market share of 23 percent. It has gone far ahead in the ongoing competition in the market. This was followed by iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro with 13 and 9 percent market share respectively.

Samsung sales fall
Samsung ranks second with 16 percent market share and the company’s phone sales in this segment saw a slight decline. According to Counterpoint, the main reason for this is the delay in launching the Galaxy S22 series. According to Counterpoint, the Galaxy S22 series and S22 Ultra Android smartphones performed well worldwide.

Xiaomi third largest brand
Similarly, there has been a significant increase in sales of Xiaomi, although it remains the third largest brand in the premium segment for the third consecutive quarter. Oppo and Vivo occupy the fourth and fifth positions in the premium segment.
